Jason Hodges' design for the South End Zone project at Texas Tech marks 25 years of consulting work at Jones Stadium.  The design creates a vibrant and welcoming space for fans and the community. The project thoughtfully integrates public art and green infrastructure, managing stormwater in a visual appealing park space while reflecting the spirit of the campus. A network of pedestrian pathways seamlessly connects the stadium to surrounding areas, while also accommodating necessary vehicle access. Native Texas and adapted xeric plants are incorporated throughout the landscape, providing beauty and resilience while minimizing water usage. Ample shade, comfortable seating, and strategic lighting create a pleasant and safe environment for gatherings before and after events, transforming the stadium grounds into a destination in itself.
