This collection of images documents 20 years of trial and error experimenting with plants at my home office in Lubbock, Texas. My goal was to discover the drought tolerance of various plants species, both natives and adapted varieties. I also pushed the known boundaries of sun and shade tolerance. The beds locations were located and designed to capture rainwater from approx. 1000 square feet of rooftop that sheds onto the space. The automatic irrigation system was dismantled and demo'd during the creation of the beds. The garden was hand-watered to establish and supplemental water is provided to the trees a couple days each year.
