Prairie Workshop is a landscape architecture studio dedicated to designing sustainable outdoor environments that honor the intersection of nature, culture, and craftsmanship. Our work spans public landscapes, private gardens, campuses, and conservation projects—each one shaped by an understanding that meaningful design begins with respect for place.
DESIGN ROOTED IN PLACE
Prairie Workshop provides professional landscape architecture and planning services that merge art, ecology, and craftsmanship. Each project—whether a backyard retreat, sculpture plaza, or university research campus—begins with listening to the land and designing in harmony with its natural systems.

LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR SERVICES
Prairie Workshop shapes places from concept to completion-blending thoughtful design programming and environmental inventories with smart site design. We plan with ecology and water in mind, craft interpretive experiences that tell a place’s story, and support teams through consulting and research that turns big questions into buildable solutions.
Ecological Design
Rainwater Harvesting • Habitat • Restoration
We begin by reading the land—its soils, slopes, vegetation, and natural patterns of water movement. Prairie Workshop develops thoughtful design strategies that slow runoff, encourage infiltration, restore habitat, and work with natural systems to create beautiful, resilient landscapes that thrive over time.
Interpretive Landscapes
Outdoor Learning • Trails • Environmental Education
We turn places into stories you can walk through. Prairie Workshop creates interpretive experiences-signage, wayfinding, and spatial moments-that connect people to history, ecology, and culture, making learning feel natural, welcoming, and memorable.
Consulting & Research
Site Assessment • Plant Inventories • Design Guidance
When the path isn’t obvious, we help you find it. Prairie Workshop provides consulting and research that clarifies goals, tests ideas, and builds confidence-translating complex constraints into practical recommendations your team can act on.
CRAFTED LANDSCAPES, CONNECTED STORIES
Our portfolio reflects a diversity of landscapes unified by one idea: design that belongs to its place. Every project balances beauty with purpose, integrating native materials, ecological systems, and human experience into a cohesive whole.
