About the Firm
Prairie Workshop is a Landscape Architecture firm specializing in Site Planning and Sustainable Design. Founded in 2010 the firm provides professional planning & design services throughout Texas and New Mexico. Our mission is to design, plan and promote the development of outdoor spaces that minimize the use of energy and water resources while maximizing client use and enjoyment of the outdoor space.
Jason Hodges, owner of Prairie Workshop, is an award-winning Landscape Architect and specialist in sustainable landscapes. Hodges’ experience with soil and water resources, knowledge of water-wise plants and a collaborative approach to design are assets that make him a successful landscape consultant.
Following 4 years of service at a distinguished engineering firm in Arlington, TX, Hodges was selected as the Campus Landscape Architect for Texas Tech University System. From 2001-2010 he led the planning & design of college campus landscapes in Amarillo, Lubbock, El Paso, San Angelo, Midland and Odessa. During his tenure, more than $20 million was invested in the development of outdoor campus spaces throughout West Texas. The resulting landscapes serve as models for integrating low-impact development strategies, green infrastructure, local materials, drought-tolerant plants and drip irrigation technology.
Since founding Prairie Workshop in 2010, Hodges has completed projects from master planning through construction documentation for wide range of project types including: custom homes, college campuses, event centers, memorial plazas, hospital gardens, outdoor classrooms, public parks, streetscapes, stadiums, commercial buildings, churches.
