Jones AT&T Stadium

A multi-phase campus landscape at Texas Tech University integrating pedestrian connectivity, native plantings, and on-site stormwater systems to create a cohesive, high-performance urban environment surrounding Jones AT&T Stadium.

Texas Tech University – Lubbock, Texas

Project Overview:

Prairie Workshop provided site and landscape design for multiple phases of development at Jones AT&T Stadium, including the Sports Performance Center, Athletic Dining Facility, Football Training Facility, West Plaza, University Ave Streetscape, Raider Red Sculpture Plaza and most recently the South End Zone Game Day Plaza. The work unified previously disconnected campus zones, improving circulation, accessibility, and user experience while introducing sustainable design strategies suited to the High Plains environment.

Design Intent:

The design for Jones AT&T Stadium sought to create a cohesive and functional landscape that matched the scale and prominence of the stadium complex while enhancing comfort and usability for students, athletes, and visitors. Durable regional materials, structured plantings, and shaded plazas provide an inviting pedestrian environment that balances the university’s architectural identity with the need for resilient, low-maintenance outdoor spaces.

Key Sustainability Features:

green infrastructure through integration of on-site stormwater infiltration, use of native plant materials / water-wise landscape, incorporation of permeable pavements, shade trees
